The London
Borough of Greenwich lies along the south east side of the Thames
and includes the North Greenwich peninsula, home to many new
developments including the famous Millennium Dome.

Much of the borough is built up and suffers from traffic congestion.
Greenwich has a history of forward looking schemes to tackle
traffic and other congestion problems and is home to a number
of notable carfree and lo car developments.
One of these is the Millennium Village situated on the Greenwich
Peninsula close to the Millennium Dome. This large scale housing
development has a number of innovative features with an emphasis
on sustainable living.

Comprising of 1,377 homes and next door to a purpose built ecology
park (English Partnerships), Greenwich Millennium village has
a parking density of 0.85 and is very well served by public
transport.

The development has been built using environmentally friendly
construction techniques and energy efficient and water saving
features are common throughout.
